Join us for an empowering day where we celebrate diversity and inclusivity.

This event will inspire and educate employers about how to attract and support people of different talents and abilities and supporting your employees with disabilities. Come and connect with like-minded individuals and businesses, learn from industry experts and discover resources to help you in the process of becoming disability confident.

Please see information below on some of the organisations who will be speaking on the day:

Watford Job Centre helps people move into work by providing training and guidance on the requirements of the job. They also offer services to help you to grow and develop your business. At the event, they will discuss how to make your workplace more accessible and attract talent from a diverse pool.

Sunnyside Rural Trust was founded in 1990 as a small, horticultural project for young people and adults with learning disabilities. They train people with learning disabilities to acquire skills in a number of rural and retail activities. They will be talking about the benefits this scheme has had for the people they support and the skills they develop through the trust.

Step2Skills commissions community learning and employment support services for adults in Hertfordshire, getting them involved in learning and employment within the community. They work with people who face barriers to education and employment such as low skills, learning or physical disabilities and mental health conditions. They will be providing an extensive overview of the disability confident scheme, as well the positive impact it can have on the workforce.

Mission Employable train young adults, aged 19-25 with a learning disability, to become employable. Their interns come from the surrounding areas of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, and commit to the supported internship programme in conjunction with the Bucks College Group. Employers often feedback that adults with a learning disability are hard-working, reliable, eager to please and popular with both colleagues and customers. With their help, they create ‘disability friendly’ working environments and highlight that employing a young adult with a learning disability is as rewarding for you as it is for them.
