Since that time we have helped to organise a Fun Run in Cassiobury Park for the BHF when over 60 walkers/ runners took part, and we also helped to arrange a collection at the Watford home game against Crystal Palace on October 15 when a total of £575 was raised.
The recent Halloween themed Quiz Evening in aid of the Peace Hospice at Hunton Park was a great success with a full house of 150 people attending. Thanks to the generosity of everyone present, nearly £5k was raised on the evening.
With the festive season just around the corner our Big Breakfast this year at Moor Park on December 6 will be in aid of Watford Mencap; and the Chamber chairs the organising committee for the Christmas Party at The Langley on 16 December in aid of the Peace Hospice which is already a sell out with over 700 attending.
Working with local schools is also very important to us and we are pleased to be involved with business mentoring in schools and in giving help in finding speakers for Careers Conventions, providing contacts for work experience placements and organising ‘world of work’ days.
We are always pleased to offer local charities the opportunity to say a few words at our networking meetings and we encourage local schools to bring some of their students to hear our excellent speakers and to make contacts with the local business community.
On the question of networking meetings, we are currently putting together our programme of events for early 2012 so watch this space for details of the interesting speakers that we will be bringing out over the coming months.
