Emergency Budget 2010 The Chancellor's first Budget outing was perhaps one of the most important for years and certainly one of the most anticipated. The increase in the VAT standard rate from 17.5% to 20% with effect from 4th January 2011 was called an "unavoidable" and aims to raise £13 billion by the end of this parliament.

The EBCC organised a Chambers Working Together event that took place on Wednesday 28 April 2010 at the BIS Conference Centre. The aim of the event was to improve cooperation between the EBCC and all regional UK Chambers and provide a platform to discuss enhancing the trade documentation process. The event was very well received and long overdue according to all participating Chambers.
