As well as assisting numerous local businesses the Chamber is delighted to be involved with many local schools and charities.
During the course of the year the Chamber has organised a number of events for local charities such as a concert at the Purcell School and a quiz evening at Hunton Park for the Peace Hospice. Last Christmas the Big Breakfast at Moor Park was in aid of Watford & District Mencap and we ran a collection at a recent Watford F C home game with the proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation.
We also offer local charities the opportunity to make presentations about the good work which they do at our networking events and assist them with their fundraising activities.
The Chamber enjoys an excellent relationship with many local schools where we run World of Work days bringing school and the workplace closer together, assisting youngsters in writing CVs and undertaking mock interviews as well as giving feedback on what went well and areas where improvement is required. We also give help on planning and running careers days in addition to mentoring a number of students . We are pleased to report that a number of Chamber members have become governors of local schools so if you are running a local charity or school and feel that we may be able to assist then please do get in touch. To make your decision even easier we offer a special membership rate of just £130 per annum to local schools and charities.
