Fay Thomson, Office Manager
I have been working at the Chamber for over 13 years, initially as Membership Secretary. My role has evolved as the Chamber has grown and I am now the Office Manager. My time working at the Chamber has allowed me to see the business community in Watford develop and thrive to become the hive of industry it is today.
Although the work I undertake differs greatly from one day to the next, I am responsible for accounts, website, HR, membership database, business development and any other ad-hoc activities that ensure the smooth running of the Chamber.
I am also accredited to undertake Export Documentation and undertake this as and when required. We are a small team and it is essential that we all help each other.
Life before the Chamber was in the financial sector, I have over 20 year experience working in Building Societies, 15 of those with Alliance & Leicester as an Office Manager. I was responsible for the running of a branch, managing a large team and a residential lending mandate of £250,000.
The three words I would use to describe myself are: focussed, organised and approachable.
I enjoy being at the seaside, am fascinated by computing, love to travel, read and bake. I am happily married with 2 grown up children and a Golden Retriever.
